PhotoAnalysis: Portraits

In this picture there are a bunch of skateboarders running up a set of stairs super hyped to skate getting ready to kill it and I can tell by their face expressions. Mike Mo for example is sticking his tongue out and Erik Koston has a stocked face expression. Based on the photo I might infer that there about to throw down hammers and definitely hit the rail for sure. I can also infer that they'e excited to skate the new spot. One question I have for this photo is why is mike mo sticking his tongue out and why is his arm up?

In this picture I see an astronaut on the moon dressed in a space suit getting ready to explore the rest of it perhaps? I also see a united states flag which makes me assume that he is from America and the range rover next to him is probably a device he uses to transfer information from where his location is back to planet earth. I wonder what he is looking at? I really cant tell from his space helmet.

In this photo I see a professional skateboarder, Paul Rodriguez, in a city area skating a nice ledge. From this photo I can assume that he is filming for his new skate video perhaps? i can tell that he is doing a nose blunt slide. I wonder why his arms are like that and I also ponder about where this spot may be?

In this image there are a bunch of kids at a demo looking towards the up direction. From this photo I can tell that they are probably waiting for professional skateboarders to throw free stuff at them. I wonder what team they just got done watching skateboard.

In this photo there is a skateboarder skating really fast perhaps under a bridge? I can tell from this photo that he is probably skating to some destination unknown. I wonder where he is going and if he is a professional skateboarder?

MIDTERM Portfolio

 ANGLES
During the process of taking this photo I got really low below the subject of my image to portray an angles effect. I chose this as one of my best angles photo because the green color on the leaves really stood out next to the concrete wall. I think if i would have cropped the washed out sky it would have made this photo a little stronger.

 FILL THE FRAME
I took this photo the day we were given props to experiment with. I had a great idea to apply the filling the frame technique with my bee prop so I set it down on floor level and took the picture right below it so that my prop looked superior. I feel like if the sun didnt leave as much glare this picture would have been perfect.

RULE OF THIRDS

During the making of this photo I asked my bro nick to jump over a trash can so that I could capture his face expression but I didnt realize it was going to be a great photo for rule of thirds technique.

PANNING
I used a panning technique to perform a slightly blurred background and kept the subject in focus. This technique was difficult for me to perform so i chose this photo because i felt like it was the closest one to this technique. I think this photo could be better if i might have blurred the background a little more.

 SHUTTER SPEED

During the process of making this photo i got really low and asked my friend nick to toss leaves into the air and i increased the shutter speed so it captured the leaves in crisp definition. i really like how this photo came out to be but it could be improved if his pants werent slightly washed out.

 WILD CARD

This photo describes me and how I am able to apply the techniques i used during my first semester in this class to almost any object in the world.

 FRAMING

I obviously didnt take this photo but i gave my friend nick instructions to take it the way i wanted it. I had a good idea of using the cart as a framing photo. This photo could have been better if i would have took it for sure.

 LINES
I took this photo outside by the bus area. I decided to get really low and take the photo floor level so that i was able to include the subject and the parking bus lines so draw attention to the subject. i really like how this photo came out to be.

PATTERNS
I was given a prop to take pictures of and experiment. I feel like I did a really good job of taking a picture of this bee on a fence which led into my pattern technique i used in this photo.

DEPTH OF FIELD

DOF Photo Corrected

During the process of photo shopping this photo I first duplicated the image then added a high pass to make the photo look a little crispier. I then added a levels layer to darken the shades and brighten the fire hydrant.

While in photoshop I added a high pass filter to the image to emphasize the detail on the wheel so it pleases the eye a little more. I then added a layer of levels to darken the inside of the wheels and lightened the rest of the image.

This is one of my first images I took with the depth of field affect and I really felt strong and positive t

Depth of Field

The focal point of the image is my friend bobby and he is a zombie. The photo I chose demonstrates a shallow depth of field and I assume the reason the photographer used this technique was to emphasize the non human zombie characteristics in crisp form.

The image I chose has a shallow depth of field and the main focal point of this photo is the child. I think the reason the photographer chose to use this depth of field was to make the child the focal point.

This image has a shallow depth of field and the main focal point is the lion. I think the reason the photographer chose this depth of field was to give a crisp feel to the lions face.

This photo has a large depth of field and the main focal point is the 4th child behind in line. I think the reason the photographer chose to focus on him was because he is the smallest in formation.

The image has a large depth of field and the main focal point are possibly the tracks on the floor because they seem to be in crisp. I think the reason the photographer chose to make the focal point the tracks was to give direction.
The image I chose has a large depth of field due to the fact that all the piano keys are in focus a little bit. I think the reason the photographer chose to do this was to emphasize the piano keys to give it a crisp look.

End of the World

i would rescue my skateboard because i love skateboarding! it allows me to define gravity by jumping down obstacles and giving me the power to accelerate at fast speeds. this piece of wood on wheels would allow me to cruise around the remaining world if an apocalypse were to occur. this piece of my possession would be my priority for sure.

i would take my bro nick with me if a zombie apocalypse were to happen for sure. he would provide a vehicle for our escape route and steady accuracy for shooting zombie brains. his presence would make a zombie apocalypse a walk at the park and if we collaborated as a team there isn't anything going to stop us.

did you know our bodies are made out of 75% water? this statistic not only convinces me why i would save water during any type of apocalypse but it is also good for your soul. if every drinking source became radiated or whatever i would for sure save water some how because that would keep me alive for days.
