Framing

I really liked this photo because as soon as I saw the cart I noticed the window shield and realized that it looked a lot like a frame and so me and suyen got into the cart and modeled as nick took the photo. Before nick took the photo I gave him instructions on where to position his body and how to take the photo so that the frame would be included. My idea was to take the photo at a slanted angle and to fit both of us in the man made frame. Id have to say that this photo does work for a man made frame.

This photo is the same man made idea as the previous photo, but what i really liked about it was the frame and how creative it was. I gave my friend nick instructions to take it at a angle so he can include the frame and also use the strategy of rule of thirds so that the photo was a little more interesting. If i had to choose i would approve this photo as a man made image.

As Mr.Pederson gave us permission to take photos I saw this frame in this random tree and thought it would be an awesome idea to climb up and try to fit in the frame with in the trees. This photo was really dangerous and risky because it was unstable and really high up, but I positioned my body inside of it so nick can take the extraordinary photo. I gave nick instructions to take it so that the frame of the tree and leaves would build a frame.

I took this photo without Suyen knowing I was taking a photo, so it gave it more of a natural look. This image would fall under the Natural frame category due to the fact that leaves are surrounding her which looks pretty cool. This bush was located by the administrator office and as i took this photo i positioned myself on the other side, so that the photo came out well. i couldnt really apply any other strategies but filling the frame because it would disable me from capturing the frame that i wanted.

I took this architectual frame photo next to the gym and thought it would be a perfect example because of the steps and building in the background. What I found unique in this photo was the frame of the chain to the floor which really made this photo really interesting and appealing to me.

This photo was a perfect example of an architectual frame photo due to the fact that my model was in between the door which caused a frame and if i could have i would have took the image from a different angle, but i couldnt because i wouldnt have captured the architecture nor the frame.

Pattern

 NATURAL
During the process of taking this photo I had to get real low and close up to the palm tree in order to successfully achieve the angle I wanted. While taking this photo I knew the carvings on the tree would make a nice pattern, but i did not realize that there were even more patterns in the image. If you look real closely at the branch with leaves they also make a pattern which is the reason why I chose this photo to be one of my best natural photos. I also like how crisp and detail the photo came out to be.

NATURAL
I took this photo next to the gym and the reason I chose this photo to be one of my best Natural photos is because of the idea that this photo can be considered Man made and Natural. The wall is made out of concrete which is obviously man made, but the plants growing on it is natural which i thought was pretty cool. While taking this photo i crouched down and took the shot from below and at an angle so that it makes the photo a little more interesting. The pattern I saw in this picture were the leaves growing upward and I purposefully took it at this angle to symbolize success because of the direction the pattern is going.
I took this photo at the Gatorade vending machine and as soon as I saw the pattern. I thought it would be a perfect idea of taking a shot for a Man Made image because it looks interesting and people do not really pay much attention to these buttons on a vending machine. I took this photo from below, so that it the image looked like their were endless amount of buttons to press. The color in the photo came out to be spectacular and crispy. I really like the repetitions of $1.50 on each button. These are mainly the reason why i chose this photo to be one of my best man made photos.

Right after i was given permission to go outside and take photos from photography class i walked to a fence on my right and noticed a shiny cool man made pattern. I thought it was a perfect example of a man made photo due to the fact that the lock and fence is created by man. I took this photo at an angle to make the image look a little more interesting and from above so that your eye can focus on the pattern and assume that it continues as it fades away. That is mainly the reason why i chose this photo to be one of my best man made photos.

WELL
I really think i did a good job on this photo because it shows the use of interrupting pattern which is unique and i also took this photo at an angle to give the photo a little more interest.

IMPROVE
I feel like i could have made this photo stronger by taking it maybe at a different angle because the human eye really cant see the pattern i am trying to show from below. the pattern i want to show in the image is from above and located on the leaves. Next time i take a pattern photo that needs to be taken from above i will do everything to take my shot.

For our next project, my goal is to take shots from angles i probably would not want to take because of the risk or how hazardous the conditions might be. I also want to try to figure out how to take it from an angle where there is enough sun light, but not too much to make the photo look a little more cool and interesting. I am going to try to achieve all of these goals as soon as start taking photos.

Angles

 ABOVE

4. This photo probably has to be my improve on photo even thought it took me about 3 minutes of trying to get my prop to stand on this slanted tree branch. The reason why i feel like i need to improve on this photo is because the sun shines on his face giving him a weird skin disease look which doesnt make the photo as strong as it should be. Maybe if i would have took the photo at a different angle it would have been better.

                                                                            BELOW
2. When i took this photo I used filling the frame technique because i thought if i had the sun glare from above of my props head it would make him look a little more intelligent. I dont know what made me think that way, but when while i was in my zone i felt as if i took the image from below it would make him look stronger and wiser even though he isnt alive.

1. I took about 100 photos during the making of this angles project and i have to say this is my strongest photo. I really like this photo because of the angle i took it in and using the fence as an interesting pattern to add a little more flare into the photo. I also like how my prop is looking at the end of the fence and as your eyes follow the fence begins to diminish.

 3. I believe the most challenging element of this assignment was taking photos from below while the sun scorched on my face. That was probably the only challenging thing i had to deal with while looking for good angles to take from below. I overcame this obstacle by wearing my sun shades and also adjusting my body position so that the reflection of the sun doesnt hit my eyes.

Lines

 DIAGONAL
3. I took this picture from below because it gave the photo more interest and makes you wonder where the trails of plants are heading to. This photo is an example of an environmental line because of the diagonal lines going up.

1. I would have to choose this  photo to be my strongest photo because of the angle i took it from which made this image unique. If you focus your eyes on the left side of the tree the sun brings light to the horizontal lines. I really like how this photo came out it took me like 10 shots to get it the way i wanted it.

5. I think one thing Mr. Pederson can do to improve this photography class experience is purchase better cameras, so that my peers can have fun with new technology cameras that could drastically improve their shots. Besides that this class is perfect.

6. One thing i think i can do to improve my experience in this class is take more pictures out of class, so that i can have more fun taking photos.

Edited Photos

I sharpened the photo on the right so my pants and grass looked a little more detailed.

I used levels on the right photo to saturate the contrast to make the scars on the lock more visible.

Use Lines Effectively

I chose this picture to fall under the Use of Lines effectively category because the proffesional in the photo is grinding down a rail in which the photographer took it at an angle where you can see the direction he is going with in the line, which in this case is the rail.

Fill The Frame

I chose this photo to fall under the fill the fram category due to the fact that the photographer zoomed in to the giraffes facial features which basically fills up the the whole picture. This type of strategy appeals to the human eyes because we dont usually get to see animals this close up.
